Located in the heart of the ARTIS campus in Amsterdam, the Artis Groote Museum offers a unique museum experience that blends nature, science, philosophy, and art. Originally opened in 1855, the Groote Museum is one of the oldest buildings in the ARTIS complex. Its recent renovation blends historic features—arched ceilings, wood-paneled halls—with sleek, contemporary design and ambient lighting. The new layout supports quiet contemplation and hands-on interaction in equal measure.
Large windows overlook the zoo’s green spaces, further reinforcing the connection between human life and the broader ecosystem.
