Originally opened in 1855, the Groote Museum is one of the oldest buildings in the ARTIS complex. Its recent renovation blends historic features—arched ceilings, wood-paneled halls—with sleek, contemporary design and ambient lighting. The new layout supports quiet contemplation and hands-on interaction in equal measure.
Large windows overlook the zoo’s green spaces, further reinforcing the connection between human life and the broader ecosystem.
